Position Description:

  • Maintains knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. 
  • Assume day-to-day administrative functions of the HR department along with the responsibility of coordinating the work of the HR staff.
  • Assist HR Director in developing management tools and processes that help facilitate the Supervisor/Managers job such as position descriptions, orientation process, and wage comparison survey.
  • Facilitate rewarding relationships and collaborate with staff and other departments.
  • Assist with the recruitment process, including posting positions, screening applicants, and interviewing.
  • Perform verifications of employment.
  • Assist with benefits process, including data entry, fielding questions from employees, and open enrollment.
  • Coordinate the overflow of work for administrative needs and provide direction to HR staff.



  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or Business Management or related field
  • Experience: 1-3 years of HR experience
  • Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, employee relations, diversity, performance management, and federal and state respective employment laws.
  • Proficient in MS Word and Excel, and familiarity with HRIS programs
  • A high level of motivation, self-management, and effective prioritization skills
  • Very high attention to detail and excellent time management
  • Ability to travel to project sites (10%-15%) as needed



  • SPHR/PHR or equivalent HR Certification
  • Experience in the mine contracting industry desired
  • Experience managing employees in multiple business units or locations (multi states or international experience)
  • Strong computer skills (Excel, Word and Adobe)
